197 <br /> <br />Kinder Care Learning Centers, Inc., and Tracor/MBA to allow for the construction of <br />an approximately 8,400 sq. ft. daycare facility on an approximately .8 acre site <br />located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Brockton Drive and Pimlico <br />Drive (realigned), be adopted~ <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, to <br />approve the application of Kinder Care Learning Centers, Inc., and Tracor/MBA for <br />PUD (Planned Unit Development) modification and development plan approval to allow <br />for the construction of an approximately 8,400 sq. ft. daycare facility on an approxi- <br />mately .8 acre site, located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Brockton <br />Drive and Pimlico Drive (realigned) subject to all conditions set forth in Planning <br />Commission Resolution No. 2346, and adding a condition that occupancy of the center <br />not be allowed until completion of signalization at the intersection of Pimlico and <br />Santa Rita. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he is in favor of the application because of the <br />great need for this type of facility, but opposes the added condition because it is <br />too restrictive and places a burden on the developer in financing the project. He <br />added that it also places him in jeopardy because of the whims of the state in approv- <br />ing the alignment plan. He stated he did not feel there would be a significant in- <br />crease in traffic because of the project. Mayor Butler concurred. Councilmember <br />Brandes stated there is a high accident rate in this area and he has grave concerns <br />regarding the safety of children being transported to this daycare center. Council- <br />member Mohr stated she concurred with Councilmember Brandes regarding traffic safety <br />in this area but felt there is a need for this type of facility. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr withdrew her second to the motion made by Councilmember <br />Brandes. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Mayor Butler, that Ordinance <br />No. 1100, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, approving the <br />application of Kinder Care Learning Centers, Inc., and Tracor/MBA for PUD (Planned <br />Unit Development) modification and development plan approval to allow for the con- <br />struction of an approximately 8,400 sq. ft. daycare facility on an approximately .8 <br />acre site located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Brockton Drive and <br />Pimlico Drive (real~gned), subject to conditions set forth in Planning Commission Re- <br />solution No. 2346, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />Assessment District No. 82-3~ Meyer Cent.er <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 83:371) dated September 7, 1983, requesting <br />continuance of this item to the meeting of September 27, 1983. <br /> <br /> Mayor ~utler declared the public hearing open and continued said hearing and all <br />matters in connection with Assessment District No. 82-3, Meyer Center, to September <br />27, 1983, 8:00 P.M., in the Pleasanton Council Chambers. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> 7. 9/13/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
