285 <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes left the meeting at 9:40 P.M. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, to name the current Bernal Avenue extension <br />rico Avenue and continue it west to Foothill Road. <br /> <br /> The motion died for lack of a second. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that <br />Resolution No. 83-260, making the following street name changes in the Civic Center <br />area: (a) the current and planned Bernal Avenue street extension should become Bernal <br />Avenue; (b) the current Bernal Avenue (from Main Street to the proposed extension) <br />should be renamed 01d Bernal Avenue; (c) the present Bernal Avenue west of Harrison <br />which is planned to be terminated in a cul-de-sac, should be renamed Bernal Court; <br />and (d) continue Bernal Avenue across Main Street and simply substitute it for rico <br />Avenue, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Vice Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Brandes and Mayor Butler <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes returned to the meeting at 9:45 P.M. <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br />Adoption of Ordinance No. 1089 amending the business license and gross receipt tax <br />schedule and modifying other portions of the business license and gross receipts <br />tax ordinance <br />(Intro. 6-14-83, 3-Ayes, i-No, 1-Absent) <br /> Vi~'e Mayor Mercer stated that Ordinance No. 1089 was introduced on June 14, 1983, <br />by a vote of 3-Ayes, 1-No, and 1-Absent, and that it was now in order to adopt the <br />ordinance. <br /> <br /> Mr. Martin Inderbitzen, 62 W. Neal Street, asked City Council to reconsider this <br />ordinance. He suggested the increase in fees be set up on a phasing schedule so as <br />not to create an anti-business situation in Pleasanton. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated that it was her understanding at the last meeting that <br />this ordinance had to be adopted before July 1, 1983, and now she learns this is not <br />the case. She stated she favors phasing of the fee schedule. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Ordinance No. 1089, amending the business license and gross receipt tax schedule and <br />modifying other portions of the business license and gross receipts tax ordinance, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmember Mohr and Vice Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: Mayor Butler <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mercer declared this item continued to the meeting of July 12, 1983, <br />for full Council attendance. <br /> <br />Adoption of Ordinance No. 1090, amending various sewer related rates, fees and charges <br />(Intro. 6-14-83, 4-Aye.s, 1-Absent) <br /> Vice Mayor Mercer stated that Ordinance No. 1090 was introduced on June 14, 1983, <br />by a vote of 4-Ayes, 1-Absent, and that it was now in order to adopt the ordinance. <br /> <br /> 10. 6/28/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
