· 439 <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. John Innes, Chairperson of the General Plan Review Steering Committee, stated <br /> that Alameda County has under consideration the application of Reynold C. Johnson for <br /> a business park at the intersection of 1-580 and E1 Charro Road. Since the City of <br /> Pleasanton is currently conducting an Industrial General Plan review and the above- <br />- mentioned property is within this study area and the City of Pleasanton's Sphere of <br /> Influence, Mr. Innes requested the following: "The City Council of the City of <br /> Pleasanton notify the County of Alameda that the City is currently conducting a <br /> General Plan Review and that the City of Pleasanton requests that any action con- <br /> templated as relates to the Reynold C. Johnson application be deferred until such <br /> time that the General Plan Review is completed by the General Plan Review Committee <br /> and the City of Pleasanton has forwarded the results of said review to the County of <br /> Alameda". Mr. Innes stated he would also like the City Council to request a response <br /> in writing to the above request from the County of Alameda. After discussion, it was <br /> moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution <br /> No. 83-13, requesting the County of Alameda to allow the General Plan Review.Committee <br />F~' of the City of Pleasanton to review the development plans of the Reynold C. Johnson <br />~' property and submit their comments before decision is made on this matter, be adopted. <br />~D The roll call vote was as follows: <br />f~ AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, and Mayor Butler <br /> NOES: None <br />[] ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br /> Council instructed staff to send the letter and resolution to the County of <br /> Alameda as soon as possible, and to request a written response from the County. <br /> <br /> Mr. Innes also requested that the General Plan Review Committee be notified of <br /> any industrial development plans to be considered by the Planning Commission and <br /> City Council as early as possible. Councilmember Mercer suggested that the three <br /> month City Council agenda planning report be made available to Mr. Innes. Staff <br /> will do so. <br /> <br /> Mr. Curt Altschur, representing Citizens for Balanced Growth, asked that no <br /> building permits be issued to Hacienda Business Park until further declaration of <br /> the Judge relative to their suit against the City. He also requested that a Valley <br /> wide growth committee be created to formulate growth plans for the entire Valley. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bud Barlow, 6723 Alisal Street, representing the Happy Valley Homeowners <br /> Association, stated this group had met and voted on whether or not to consider <br /> annexation to the City of Pleasanton. The vote was 58 to 18 in favor of doing <br /> further studies relative to annexation to the City but retaining the rural atmos- <br /> phere. He stated that a committee of 14 people has been appointed to study annexa- <br /> tion alternative, and that their first meeting has been scheduled for Thursday, <br /> January 13, 1983, 8:00 P.M. He invited Council and staff to attend this meeting. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> Application of the City of Pleasanton to rezone approxim.~ely 13 acres of land <br /> located on the south side of Bernal Avenue extension between the eastern side of <br /> the right-of-way of the Western Pacific Railroad Company and the eastern side of <br /> the right-of-way of the Southern Pacific Transportation Company from the "0" <br /> (Office) and "I-P" (Industrial Park) District and to prezone approximately 16 <br /> acres a~jacent and to the south for a total of approximately. 29 acres to the PUD <br /> (Planned Unit Development)-High Density. Residential District or to any other <br /> zoning district consistent with the General Plan <br /> (Contd. Open from 6-22-82, 7-13-82, 7-27-82, 10-12-82, and 11-9-82) <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 83:14) dated January 3, 1983, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> 6. 1/11/83 <br /> <br /> <br />
