Mayor Mercer stated he felt the Mohr house should be accepted by the City now, and the details worked out later; he did not want to take a chance of losing the house. Mr. Herb Singleton, a resident 400 feet from the Mohr house, stated the house is safe where it is now. He questioned what value this house has to the City. He stated he felt City funds could be spent in a better fashion. After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that staff be instructed to negotiate to acquire an option to accept the donation of the Mohr house on July 1st or later, and report back to Council with possible options regarding conditions of acquisition.
