Authority to Negotiate Agreement with'Resources for F&mily Development for Child Care <br />Services <br /> Mrs. Bengtson presented her report (SR 84:486) dated September 5, 1984, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Ruth Fries, representing Resources for Family Development, stated that more <br />cities are becoming involved in child care services, and that more and more families <br />need this kind of service. She stated that calls have increased 40% in the last <br />month. She advised this service benefits families of all incomes. She urged local <br />government participation in the solution of the child care problem. <br /> <br /> Ms. Jacquie 01iverius, liaison from the Park and Recreation Commission to the <br />Human Services Commission, stated this is an excellent plan and she urged Council <br />approval of the program, adding that with industrial growth comes the increased need <br />for this type of service. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Council- <br />member Mohr, that Resolution No. 84-465, authorizing staff to negotiate an agreement <br />with Resources for Family Development for child care services, and amending the 1984- <br />85 budget to include $17,633.00 for contract services with RFS from October 1, 1984 <br />to June 30, 1985, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Resolutions Making Application to LAFC0 and A~reein~ to the Exchange of Property Tax <br />Revenue and Initiating Prezoning for Annexation No, 110 (approximately 276 acres on <br />Foothill Road) <br /> Mr. Warnick presented his report (SR 84:472) dated September 11, 1984, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sig Kriegsman, representing the property owners, stated he favored the annexa- <br />tion. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that <br />Resolution No. 84-466, making application to LAFC0 for Annexation No. 110, approxi- <br />mately 276 acres on Foothill Road; Resolution No. 84-467, agreeing to the exchange of <br />property tax revenue for Annexation No. 110, approximately 276 acres on Foothill Road; <br />and Resolution No. 84-468, initiating prezoning for Annexation No. 110, approximately <br />276 acres on Foothill Road, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmember Wood <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> <br />September, October, and November City Council ASenda Plannin6 Rep?rt <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report dated September 5, 1985, transmitting the Sep- <br />tember, October, and November City Council agenda planning report. <br /> <br />Minor Modification to Heritage Valley Planned Unit Development <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (IR 84:55) dated August 3'1, 1984, regarding this <br />matter.
