It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 84-414, approving the application of the City of Pleasanton for the construction of an underpass structure and related improvements to allow for the future extension of Hacienda Drive from its existing eastern terminus underneath the tracks ot the Southern Pacific Transportation Company located approximately 750 feet northeast of the intersection of Gibraltar Drive and Hacienda Drive, be adopted. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: Councilmember Butler RZ-84-8, Application of the City of Pleasanton to prezone the approximately 8 acre site located on the north side of Vineyard Avenue opposite Mavis'Drive to the PUD '(Planned Unit Development)-Medium Density Residential District or any other zoning district consistent with the General Plan Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 84:430) dated August 8, 1984, regarding this matter. Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the nega- tive declaration. Mr. Brad Caroline, 4487 Pleasanton Avenue, spoke in favor of the prezoning for this property. Mr. Steve Hughes, 587 Touriga Court, asked at what stage was development for the property. Mayor Mercer advised this is only the prezoning step in the process of development. There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed on the application and the negative declaration. It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 84-415, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a negative declaration is appropriate in connection with the application of the City of Pleasanton to prezone the approxi- mately 8 acre site located on the north side of Vineyard Avenue opposite Mavis Drive to the PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Medium Density Residential District, be adopted.
