City Attorney's office meet with Mr. Oliva to assist him in possible reimbursement <br />for damages to his automobile. He advised that additional soundwalls will be built <br />on Valley Avenue to replace the old wooden fences, and that soundwalls are being <br />considered for installation on West Las Positas Boulevard and Santa Rita Road. <br /> <br /> Mr. Steve Hughes, 587 Touriga Court, stated that some months ago PG&E replaced <br />an electrical vault in front of his home. The subcontractor who did the cement work <br />left it rough and never cameback to smooth it out; Mr. Hughes did it himself. He <br />came to City Hall to see if the subcontractor had a business license; he did not but <br />did have a permit for a portable water meter. He asked if PG&E had a permit to do <br />this particular job; he was advised they did not. He stated he has been back to <br />City Hall several times asking to see documentation of PG&E~s permit and a business <br />license for the subcontractor. He stated that thusfar he has been unable to see <br />these documents. He asked if a fine had been levied in this regard. Mayor Mercer <br />instructed staff to provide the requested information to Mr. Hughes. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Lingo, Dublin resident, spoke on behalf of the proposed excursion rail- <br />road. He stated that he lived in a small town in Utah in 1970 that had a comparable <br />situation. He advised that the steam excursion line proved to be a great asset and <br />a unifying factor to the town. He supported the proposed project for Pleasanton, <br />stating it is a golden opportunity for the City to provide an exciting tourist <br />attraction for the area. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mike Grazaidei, 3955 Churchill Drive~ stated that with regard to Mr. Olivats <br />problems, he has found that in the past the City has been very responsive to the con- <br />cerns of the citizens regarding debris in the street and speed of trucks. He advised <br />he would have comments on Tree Preservation later when this item is discussed on the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />Appeal of a decision of the Planning Commission approving a conditional use permit <br />to allow the establishment and operation of a subdivision sales office and model <br />home complex in three residential units located at the southeast corner of Spring- <br />dale Avenue and Stonedale Drive. The property is zoned PUD (Planned Unit Develop- <br />ment)-High Density Residential District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 84:432) dated August 8, 1984, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Art Maryon, 5221 Springdale Avenue, President of the Stoneson Homeowners <br />Association, requested a continuance of this item. He stated that several members <br />of their Board had met this date with representatives of Stoneson Development Com- <br />pany and had reached a partial settlement in spirit; and that a formal settlement <br />will be submitted to the Board and homeowners within the next week. He requested <br />that with the proposed reroofing and siding replacement, the homeowners would like <br />the full cooperation of the Building Department in order to prevent recurrence of <br />the problems they have gone through. He added that the Board members feel that <br />Stoneson is showing good faith and they feel a continuance is in order. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer advised that a request for continuance would have to be made by <br />the appellant, Mr. Perkins. <br /> <br /> Mr. Michael Perkins, 5371 Brookside, stated he was surprised by the request for <br />continuance and would like to discuss this matter with affected homeowners in the <br />audience.
