PUD-81-30-15D, Application of PIC for design review of two office buildings totalling <br />approximately 217,000 sq. ft. proposed to be constructed on the 14.6 acre site located <br />at the northeast corner of Hopyard Road and West Las Positas Boulevard. The property <br />is zoned PUD (Planned Unit Develcpment)-Industrial Commercial and Offices District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 84:396) dated July 18, 1984, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Warren Sattler, representing Prudential Insurance Company, presented design <br />drawings of the buildings, and stated he concurred with the staff report and conditions. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br />closed. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he has concerns on this project relative to access on Hopyard <br />Road, the driveway near the bus shelter, and the 55 ft. high building being on the <br />front of the property. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler expressed concern regarding the access way onto Hopyard Road. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes concurred, a~d stated he would not support the project be- <br />cause of the entrance on Hopyard Road. <br /> <br /> Mr. Joe Callahan, representing Callahan Pentz Properties, stated that Hopyard Road' <br />on the east side has a free running extra lane, which was a condition of the PUP appli- <br />cation. He stated that each parcel from West Las Positas up to Gibraltar has controlled <br />access points on that extra lane, and that there would not be any left turns out of <br />any of the sides. <br /> <br /> Mr. Sattler explained the reason for placing the 55 ft. building on the front of <br />the parcel, is because the length of the two story building is more compatible on the <br />back side of the property. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Mayor <br />Mercer, that Resolution ~io. 84-376, denying without prejudice because of traffic <br />measures, PUD-81-30-15D, application of PIC for design review of two office buildings <br />totalling approximately 217,000 sq. ft. proposed to be constructed on the 14.16 acre <br />site located at the northeast corner of Hopyard Road and West Las Positas Boulevard, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />PUD-81-30-16D, Application of Callahan Pentz Properties for design review of a four <br />building commercial/office complex totalling approximately 81,000 ..sq. ft.. proposed <br />for the 6.328 acre site located immediately south of the intersection of Stoneridge <br />Drive and Gibraltar DriVe (on the east side of Gibraltar Drive). The property is <br />zoned PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Industrial, Commercial and Offices District <br /> <br />PUD-81-30-4M, Application for a minor modification to the building setback and land- <br />scaping requirements of the Hacienda Business Park as it pertains to the four build- <br />ing commercial/office complex proposed for the 8 acre site located south of the in- <br />tersection of Gibraltar Drive and Stoneridge Drive on the east side of Gibraltar <br />Drive.
