Open from 2-27-84 and 4-24-84) <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared this public hearing continued open to the meeting of <br />May 22, 1984, 8:00 P.M., in the Pleasanton Council Chambers, at the request of the <br />applicant. <br /> <br />Appeal of Falcon Development Company of a decision of the Board of Adjustment. denying <br />approval of a Variance to allow the placement of an on-site subdivision sales sign <br />within !000 feet of 1-680, a designated scenic route on Foothill Knolls Drive nears <br />its parallel alignment with 1-680. Zoning for the propert~ is PUD ('Planned Unit <br />Deve!opment)-Medium Density Residential/High Density Residential District <br /> Mr. Glenn presented the report of the Director of Planning and Community Development <br />(SR 84:251) dated May 2, 1984, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. A1 Dutchover, Landscape Architect, 147 Bernal Avenue, representing Falcon <br />Development Company, stated that on the basis of the policy established in Resolutions <br />No. 77-230 and No. 79-16, regarding the Scenic Corridor Program, he felt that Council <br />policy has been misinterpreted or inadvertently changed, therefore he asked for <br />approval of his appeal to allow the placement of an on-site subdivision sign within <br />1000 feet of the right-of-way of a designated scenic route (I-680). <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this appeal. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> After considerable' discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Wo%d, and seconded by <br />Vice Mayor Brandes, that Resolution No. 84-230, denying the appeal of Falcon Develop- <br />ment Company of a decision of the Board of Adjustment denying approval of a Variance <br />to allow the placement of an on-site subdivision sales sign within 1000 feet of 1-680, <br />a designated scenic route on Foothill Knolls Drive nears its parallel alignment with <br />1-680, because the necessary findings could not be made to grant approval of the appeal, <br />be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Vice Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton to Drezone approximately 120 acres at 4440 and <br />4432 Foothill Road, west side, to the PUb'(Planned Unit Development)-Low Density <br />Residential/Open Space District or to any other zoning district consistent with the <br />general plan <br /> <br />Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration <br /> Mr. Glenn presented the report of the Director of Planning and Community Development <br />(SR 84:250) dated May 2, 1984, regarding this matter.
