Attorney advised that their obligation under the long term agreement was to have Valley <br /> Avenue completed by September 1st, but it does not permit them to open their models if <br /> there is a public safety question. After discussion, Vice Mayor Brandes asked that <br /> staff take whatever actions are legal to require that Valley Avenue be completed prior <br /> to opening Barrett's model home complex. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes stated he felt that Ponderosa Homes should be notified that it <br /> is the Cityis desire to have the five acre park site that is bordered by Valley and <br /> Hopyard. Councilmember Mohr stated she would like to see a map of the area; that she <br /> needed more information on this matter and was not prepared to comment on this issue <br /> tonight. After further discussion, Vice Mayor Brandes stated he would bring this <br /> matter back before full Council. <br /> <br /> CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes stated that he had reviewed further the matter of hiring a con- <br /> sultant to work with the Cities of Livermore and Pleasanton relative to the Cable TV <br /> franchise agreement. It was moved by Vice Mayor Brandes, and seconded by Council- <br />~member Wood, that the Cities of Livermore and~Pleasanton staff and representatives <br /> o~ the C~%~e~u~.~ work together to draw up a contract for the scope of work <br /> for a consultant and recommendation for selection of a consultant for the Cable TV <br /> franchise agreement. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Vice Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Butler and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br /> With further reference to the Citizens Cable TV Advisory Committee, it was moved <br /> by Vice Mayor Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that Resolution No. 84-229, <br /> clarifying that the City of San Ramon is an advisory member only on the Citizens Ad- <br /> visory Committee until after the franchise agreement ~s settled, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Vice Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmembe~Butler and Mayor Mercer ~ <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes asked that a City Council commendation be made to Charlotte <br /> Severin for her outstanding efforts on the Citizens Cable TV Advisory Committee. <br /> <br /> MEETING OPEN TO THE ~UBLIC <br /> Mr. William Herlihy, 816 Abbie Street, addressed Council regarding the tree trimming <br /> program for the City of Pleasanton, which he feels is a hit and miss proposition. He <br /> presented thirteen pictures taken of various locations throughout the City where trees <br /> have been unproperly trimmed. He stated he supports staff doing the job rather than a <br /> contractor for the tree trimming. Mr. Walker advised that additional staff would be <br /> needed to effectively carry out the tree trimming program. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the provisions of Ordinance No. 885,. <br /> rezoning approximately 61 acres immediately north of the Pleasanton Sports and Recrea- <br /> tion Park, to delete Section 4(1)(d) guaranteeing "no street access from the develop- <br /> ment to Sutter Gate (Drive)" <br /> <br /> Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration <br /> (Contd.
