Application of the Prudential Insurance Company of America for design review approval <br />of a~..approximately 13,000 sq. ft. restaurant and related facilities on an approxi- <br />m._a~ely 2.7 acre site located at the southeast corner of Hopyard Road and Gibraltar <br />Drive. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Commercial and <br />Offices/General and Limited Industrial District <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 84:188) dated April 2, 1984, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. MacDonald advised that if this item is approved it will have to be conditioned <br />upon the passage of Measure A, being voted on this date. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Roger Gage, representing Prudential Insurance Company, presented displays of <br />the proposed restaurant as well as projects already approved for Hacienda Business Park. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bob Enson, architect for the project, presented schematic drawings of the <br />restaurant. He reviewed the site plan showing location on site and access pattern; <br />modifications to parking in response to Planning Commission concerns; floor plan of <br />restaurant, seating approximately 315 people; north elevation facing Gibraltar; south <br />elevation facing adjacent property to the south; east elevation in back of restaurant; <br />west elevation facing Hopyard Road; and the landscape plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gage reviewed the proposed change in the CC&R's to make the parking a general <br />office use blend; all aisles being 26 feet, which meets City ordinance code. <br /> <br /> Mr. Pete Jacobson, 6122 Allbrook, stated he did not feel this application should <br />be approved until satisfactory solutions have been made to the soundwall at his resi- <br />dence to eliminate the excessive noise problem. Mayor Mercer stated it was his under- <br />standing that this matter would be taken care of an soon as the widening of Stoneridge <br />Drive is completed. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mary McLaugh!in, representing Hacienda Business Park, responded to Mr. Jacob- <br />son's concern, stating that sound studies are being conducted at this time and that <br />they are making every effort to resolve this problem and will continue to work with <br />Mr. Jacobson until the matter is properly taken care of. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed <br />on this application. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Council- <br />member Butler, that Resolution No. 84-167, approving the application of the Prudential <br />Insurance Company of America for design review approval of an approximately 13,000 sq. <br />ft. restaurant and related facilities on an approximately 2.7 acre site located at the <br />southeast corner of Hopyard Road and Gibraltar Drive, subject to all conditions set <br />forth in Staff Report 84:188, and amending Condition No. 1 to reflect that the develop- <br />ment shall be as substantially shown on the site plan, floor plan, elevations and land- <br />scape plan, Exhibit A (revised 4-9-84) on file with the Planning Division; and contin- <br />gent upon the passage of Measure A being voted on this date, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Application of the City of Pleasanton and Kushel Dahya?atel~ et al, for a development <br />agreement with regard to the development and use of an approx.imat.ely 17,000 s~. ft. <br />site located adjacent and to the south of 2025 Santa Rita Road.
