He stated there is still a <br />problem with trucks parking illegally at MacDonalds. Mr. Graziadei stated the home- <br />owners concur with the staff report but would like additional input as to the best <br />alternative and solution for the easterly end of West Las Positas Boulevard. <br /> <br /> After considerable discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded <br />by Councilmember Wood, that the initiation of a General Plan amendment for the removal <br />of West Las Positas Boulevard from the General Plan as an arterial west of Santa Rita <br />Road be continued until completion of the North Pleasanton Improvement District EIR, <br />and instructing staff to meet with representatives of the Pleasanton Meadows Home- <br />owners Association to discuss the best solution for the easterly end of West Las <br />Positas Boulevard. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Wood, and Vice Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Butler <br /> <br />froposed Barking Dog Ordinance <br /> Chief Eastman presented his report (fir 84:142) dated March 7, 1984, regarding this <br />matter. He explained in detail the need for such an ordinance, and elaborated on the <br />measures for enforcement. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mercer asked if there is an appeal process associated with the ordinance. <br />Chief Eastman responded No, because citations would go directly to court. <br /> <br /> Hr. Earl Randall, 6610 Hamsen Drive, stated he strongly opposes such an ordinance, <br />stating it is unfair to dog owners and cruel to dogs. <br /> <br /> Mr. Louis Bailey, 4293 Muirwood Drive, stated he is in favor of the ordinance. He <br />cited the barking dog problem adjacent to his home which creates a great problem to his <br />peace of mind. <br /> <br /> Bey Stunkel, 500 Pine Hill Lane, stated she supports the barking dog ordinance, and <br />urged Council to approve it so that the animal control officer can do the job required <br />of him. <br /> <br /> 9. 3/13/84 <br /> <br /> <br />
