He <br />stated that Council will have input as to w[en the Library would be open the extra hours. <br />He added that citizens need additional service from the Library. <br /> <br /> Ms. Carol Start, Librarian in Pleasanton, reviewed the hours that the Library is <br />presently open and stated this is not adequate to fully serve the needs of Pleasanton <br />residents. <br /> <br /> Ms. Jeannie Cooper, Alameda County Librarian, m2ged Council to approve the increase <br />in service at the Pleasanton Library, and stated there are a variety of options open to <br />provide the additional service, which can be determined after further review. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Council- <br />member Brandes, that Resolution No. 84-80, approving the Mid-Year Budget - 1983-84 <br />Fiscal Year, as presented in Staff Report 84:86, be adopted. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Wood, to amend the above motion to include funding to provide additional <br />hours to service at the Pleasanton Branch Library on a trial basis to the end of the <br />fiscal year, and instructing staff to prepare a contract for approval by Council, setting <br />forth in detail the additional service. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 12. 2/14/84 <br /> <br /> <br />
