It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Brandes, that <br />Ordinance No. 1111, approving the application of Morrison Homes for PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development) development plan approval for a 204 unit medium density residential <br />development project proposed to be constructed at the northeast corner of Santa Rita <br />Road and Valley Avenue, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Actions Taken by the Board of Adjustment, Design Review Board, and Planning Commission <br />at their meeting of 12-14-83 <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 84:01) dated December 15, 1983, regarding this <br />matter for the information of the Council. No <br />action was required or taken by Council on this item. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER (Contd.) <br />Fire Training Tower Location <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the Fire Chief (SR 84:04) dated December 20, <br />1984, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, auth- <br />orizing the staff to negotiate for the purchase of land east of the Valley Business <br />Park to be used as a fire training facility and to reinitiate assessment district <br />proceedings to include land acquisition costs and other additional improvements that <br />will be needed to complete the project. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Park Site - Peters Avenue and Division Street <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 84:26) dated January 6, 1984, regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Frances Souza, owner of the proposed park site,'stated she had assumed this <br />land would be zoned for either high density apartments or commercial development. <br />She advised that she had received several offers to buy her land for either or these <br />purposes at $10.00 per sq. ft. She stated she does not oppose her property being <br />used for a City park but would expect a fair market price for the land, and would <br />like the matter settled as soon as possible. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Council- <br />member Brandes, to refer this item to the Park and Recreation Commission to review <br />the Park Capital Improvement Program and make a recommendation on the purchase of the <br />Peters Avenue site. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Butler <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> 14. 1/9/84 <br /> <br /> <br />
