RZ-85-8, Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the <br />Zoning Ordinance to reduce exterior side yard fence setback <br />requirements <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 85:192) dated April 16, <br />1985, regarding this matter. Vice Mayor Brandes declared the <br />public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to <br />this application. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that Ordinance No. 1194, to be <br />read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, amending <br />Section 2-5.38(f) of Article 3, Chapter 2, Title II of the Or- <br />dinance Code of the City of Pleasanton to reduce sideyard re- <br />quirements in single-family residential districts, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Vice Mayor <br /> Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Mayor Mercer <br /> <br />AP-85-1, Appeal of Robert Betkey of a decision of the Design Re- <br />view Board denying permission to retain an automobile display <br />platform adjacent to the northern property line of the Betkey <br />Porsche/Audi automobile dealership located at 5940 Stoneridge <br />Mall Road. The property is zoned C-R(p) (Regional Commercial <br />Peripheral) District <br />(Contd. Open from 4-2-85) <br /> Mr. Harris presented his report (SR 85:197) dated April 16, <br />1985, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Brandes declared the continued public hearing open <br />on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Robert Berkey, 5940 Stoneridge Mall Road, stated he needs <br />the display rack to make his business more visible. He stated he <br />did not feel the rack is an eyesore, because it is done in a <br />tasteful way. He advised that it is barely visible from the <br />freeway and that landscaping enhances the lot. He asked the City <br />to support his business by allowing the display rack; adding that <br />revenue sales from his business add to City revenue taxes. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item° <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Vice Mayor Brandes declared <br />the public hearing closed on this item. <br /> <br /> Page 9 4-16-85 <br /> <br /> <br />
