He concluded by stating he felt the Villa Armando Winery property <br /> should be designated high density residential. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed <br /> on the applications and the negative declaration. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he would like to see this area zoned PUD-High Density <br /> Residential District in order to allow more control and better flexibility of the pro- <br /> perty by Council. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated it has been her dream to see the creek side developed <br /> in small commercial stop-type uses such as in San Luis Obispo and Los Gatos. She stated <br /> that high density zoning would be her second choice for development of the property. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that <br />Resolution No. 85-155, determining on the basis of a review of initial environmental <br />study done for this project, that no significant environmental impact would occur as <br />outlined in the City's guidelines and that a negative declaration is appropriate in <br />connection with GP-85-1, application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the General <br />Plan Land Use designation of an approximately 2.25 acre site located at 553,539, and <br />571 St. John Street from Commercial and Offices to High Density Residential District; <br />and RZ-85-1, application of the City of Pleasanton to rezone an approximately 3.0 acre <br />site located at 539,553, and 571 St. John Street from I-G (General Industrial) District <br />to the PUD (Planned Unit Development)-High Density Residential District, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmember Mohr <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, that <br />Resolution No. 85-158, approving GP-85-1, application of the City of Pleasanton to amend <br />the General Plan Land Use designationof an approximately 2.25 acre site located at 553, <br />539, and 571 St. John Street from Commercial and Offices to High Density Residential <br />District, with the remainder of the property (approximately 0.75 acres) to remain as <br />presently designated on the General Plan, "Open Space, Public Health and Safety", be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmember Mohr and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he could not support this application because he felt conmer- <br />cial zoning would be more appropriate, as suggested by the opponents. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, that <br />Ordinance No. 1188, to be read by title only and waiving further reading thereof, <br />approVing RZ-85-1, application of the City of Pleasanton to rezone an approximately <br />3.0 acre site located at 539, 553, and 571 St. John Street from I-G (General Industrial) <br />District to the PUD (Planned Unit Development)-High Density Residential District, be <br />introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmember Mohr and Mayor Mercer <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> 8. 3/26/85' <br /> <br /> <br />
