Adoption of Resolution No. 85-120, accepting Project No. 84-8, resurfacing various <br /> City streets (Alvord Way, Denker Drive, Dorman Road, and Eastbound Valley Avenue), <br /> and authorizing the City Attorney to file a Notice of Completion. <br /> <br /> n. Proclaim March 25-30, 1985, as YMCA Camping Centennial Week. <br /> <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> ABSTAINED:Councilmember Brandes on item 4a <br /> <br />MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br /> Councilmember Brandes requested that the Council meeting dates be changed from <br />the 2nd and 4th Tuesday nights of each month to the 1st and 3rd Tuesday nights of each <br />month. After discussion, Mayor Mercer, with the concurrence from Council, directed <br />staff to bring back a report implementing actions necessary to change City Council <br />meeting times from the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays nights of each month to the 1st and 3rd <br />Tuesday nights, and to provide for the effective date of the change to be the first <br />Tuesday in April. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood requested staff to investigate the flooding problem at the <br />project on Crellin Road. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood requested the Police Department to investigate and take what- <br />ever action necessary to alleviate traffic problems at Gate 8 of the Fairgrounds <br />which occurs on weekends. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wood stated that it has not been determined at this time as to how <br />any excess city funds will be spent; in response to newspaper articles that a library <br />will be funded. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> There were no City Council Committee Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mrs. Dorothy Bevard, 7974 Hillsboro Court, stated that Mr. Ormand has applied for <br />a permit to continue the dirt quarry operation at the Moller property on Foothill Road. <br />She advised she is vehemently opposed to the continuance of the quarry operation. She <br />stated that Alameda County Planning Commission will discuss this matter at their meet- <br />ing of March 18, 1985, 1:30 P.M., and requested that Council support her opposition to <br />granting of the permit. After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and <br />seconded by Councilmember Wood, reaffirming the City of Pleasanton's opposition to any <br />further operation of the Moller Quarry on Foothill Road, and instructing staff to write <br />a letter to the Alameda County Planning Commission and Board of Supervisors advising <br />them of this position. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer appointed Councilmember Brandes to attend the Alameda County Planning <br />Commission meeting to voice the City's opposition to this matter. <br /> <br /> Mrs. Bevard asked if soundwalls will be installed along the east side of Foothill <br />Road to Muirwood. Mr. Walker advised that soundwalls at this location were not included <br />in the Environmental Impact Report. Mayor Mercer instructed staff to determine the <br />number of feet needed for a soundwall in this area as well as estimated cost, for further <br />consideration should the quarry permit be granted. <br /> <br /> 3. 3/12/85 <br /> <br /> <br />
