SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> Environmental Monitoring Committee <br /> Mayor Brandes advised that six resumes have been received to be considered <br /> for the one vacancy on the Environmental Monitoring Committee. He stated that <br /> Councilmembers Butler and Mohr were liaison members who previously made the <br /> appointments to this Committee. He instructed that they review the applica- <br /> tions and present a name for Council consideration at the meeting of January <br /> 21, 1986. <br /> <br /> Student Employment Program <br /> Mayor Brandes presented a memorandum from the Assistant to the City Man- <br />ager advising that eight students have been hired and that six more vacancies <br />exist. Mayor Brandes asked the newpapers to report on this openings. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br />Actions Taken by the Board of Adjustment, Design Review Board, and Planning <br />Commission at their meeting of 12-11-85 <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 85:607) dated December 12, 1985, <br />regarding this matter. No action was required or taken by Council on the <br />item. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Report on Advance Sale of 300,000 GPD Sewer Capacity <br /> Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 85-611) dated December 17, 1985, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember. Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Resolution No. 85-590, approving the advanced sale of the sewer capacity, <br />based on the pro rata formula which allows each applicant to purchase up to <br />15.062 percent of the capacity requested; approving the advance sale permit <br />form; and authorizing the City Manager to proceed with the advance sale of <br />sewer capacity with procedures outlined in Staff Report 85:611, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />Matters for the Information of the Council <br /> <br />Minutes from Staff Traffic Committee Meeting of November 20, 1985 <br /> Mr. Okamura presented his report (IR 85:68) dated December 17, 1985, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated there is a problem regarding the double left <br />turn lane at Valley Avenue and Hopyard Road. After discussion, it was moved <br />by Mayor Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mercer, to remark the street <br />to its original configuration of the middle lane being alternate straight <br />ahead and/or left turn lane. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Council instructed staff to find alternate routes for pedestrian traffic <br />at this location. <br /> <br /> 12-17-85 <br /> - 13 <br /> <br /> <br />
