3.79 <br /> <br /> Ms. Sharrell Michelotti, Chairperson for the Citizens Environmental <br />Monitoring Committee, introduced the members of this Committee as follows: Ray <br />Ahner, John Kelly, Jr., Brian Benda, Richard Combs, Tom Sullivan, Alan <br />Casamajor, and Chuck Wiedel. She thanked the members for their diligent ef- <br />forts and outstanding expertise in serving on this Committee for the past <br />year. <br /> <br /> Ms. Michelotti presented the Environmental Monitoring Committee Year End <br />Report dated October 1, 1985. She elaborated on the findings and recommenda- <br />tions related to air quality monitoring; hazardous materials monitoring; water <br />quality monitoring; noise monitoring; and traffic monitoring. She requested <br />Council and staff to carefully consider their recommendations, and asked that <br />the Environmental Monitoring Committee be allowed to continue functioning in <br />their present capacity. .. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer thanked the Committee for their outstanding report and ser- <br />vice to the City of Pleasanton. He advised that staff wants to review this <br />report and make recommendtions. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Self, representing Hacienda Business Park Owners Association, <br />presented a letter dated October 1, 1985; in response to the air quality sec- <br />tion of the Environmental Monitoring Committee report. He stated he felt the <br />findings are not valid based upon the programs that are currently in place. <br />He eviewed the programs that are currently being monitored as follows: carbon <br /> <br /> r r n e <br />and believes that the baseline data generated by the air quality monitoring <br />program to date is valid and supports the objectives set out in Condition No. <br />107 of the PUD for Hacienda Business Park. He requested Council to direct <br />staff to meet with the Hacienda Owners' Association and a representative of <br />the Environmental Monitoring Committee prior to action on this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he has questions regarding the report, and instructed <br />staff to review the report and answer questions that Council may have. Mr. <br />Walker stated he could have the report ready in one month. Mayor Mercer ad- <br />vised the Environmental Monitoring Committee to continue serving as they pres- <br />ently are doing. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />Part-time Student Employment Proqram <br /> Mr. Walker presented the report of the Assistant to the City Manager (SR <br />85:474) dated September 23, 1985, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution No. 85-473, approving the student em- <br />ployment program, and amending the 1985-86 budget to include the programs <br />projected cost of $38,000, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wood <br /> <br />Selection of Permanent Park Name for the Following Parks: .5+ Acre Park on the <br />Southwest Corner of Peters Avenue and Division Street; 15 Acre Park on the <br />Northwest Corner of Hopyard Road and Valley Avenue, and the Renaming of Hansen <br />Park <br /> <br /> - 10 10-1-85 <br /> <br /> <br />
