Councilmember Wood stated he would be voting in favor of moving the Mohr
House but would like assurance that something is going to be done within a
certain period of time..

Vice Mayor BFandes stated that he has not had ample time to review the
report presented by the Mohr House Restoration Committee, he was not sure the
City is willing to pay $600,000-$700,000 for restoration of the house, and to
take any action without full Council attendance is highly improper. He stated
the project needs full and strong Council support in order to succeed. He
stated it needs to be determined if the City is willing to expend money for
this project, and what priority it will be given in the Capital Improvement
Program. He stated the three year Capital Improvement Program has just been
approved and this project was not included. He advised that many citizens in
the community may feel that other projects are more worthwhile, such as the
proposed new library, parks, and street improvements.

Councilmember Mohr stated that the Mohr House Restoration Committee, a
-- non-profit organization, is willing to move and do the first phase restoration
of the house at no expense to the City. She stated there is a warm and posi-
tive response from the community in support of moving the house. She stated
that in response to the fact that other Councilmembers are not present, it was
her understanding that they are in support of the project. She stated that
Donna McMillion advised her that Mayor Mercer had sent a letter to the Presi-
dio in support of nloving the Mohr House.

Vice Mayor Brandes stated he is not opposed to the project but felt it is
highly improper to act on this matter without full Council attendance.

It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Wood,
that Resolution No. 85-380, granting approval to move the Mohr House to the
proposed park site with the understanding that Moh~ House Restoration, Inc.,
work with City staff to confirm that the necessary resources are available to
successfully complete the nlove and stabilization, and that the Mohr House Res-
toration Committee will provide assurance that the exterior of the house will
be made attractive and not left in its current state; and should the Mohr
House Restoration Committee not be able to pay for the move, the move will be
voided so that the City will be protected in this matter, be adopted.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Council members Mohr and Wood
NOES: Vice Mayor Brandes
ABSENT: Councilmember Butler and Mayor Mercer

Mr. Keith Wardin, representing the Pleasanton Library Committee, thanked
City Council and staff for their support and report regarding the proposed new
library.

Mr. Ernest Beztey, 3457 Croak Road, stated that Alameda County Planning
Commission approved another quarry on Collier Canyon Road at their meeting of
August 5th. He advised there are three other quarry applications before this
Commission. He requested Council to take a position in opposition to these
applications.

Vice Mayor Brandes advised that Council has already taken a position in
opposition to additional quarries in this vicinity. After discussion, it was
moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, that Resolu-
tion No. 85-379, opposing the Branaugh quarry application on Collier Canyon

8 8-6-85
