Unit DeveYopment)-Me~ium Density ~esidential D~stricts <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 86:133) dated April 15, 1986, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes stated this item was appealed based upon action of the Plan- <br /> ning Commission; he thought this matter had been taken care of at'the PUD <br /> change early this year. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lynn Fryer, 6671 Owens Drive, representing Ponderosa Homes, stated <br />0'} they initially brought this issue to the Planning Commission at the request of <br />0'} some homeowners. He stated there was a request from the owners on the other <br />~-I side of Hansen that traffic lights would shine into their windows and cause <br /> adverse impacts. He stated he looked at the project and its impacts and it is <br />Iml his interpretation that the proposed revision is in the best interests of <br />Cll everyone concerned. <br /> <br /> Mr. Rod Schloss, 6652 Hansen Drive, read a letter on behalf of himself and <br /> his neighbors, objecting to the proposed street entering Hansen Drive. He <br /> stated the tentative map eliminated the change. He stated that if continued <br /> development is to occur additional access must be completed. He advised that <br /> adequate access is also needed for fire protection. He stated there are al- <br /> ready accidents occurring due to increased traffic. He felt Ponderosa Indus- <br />_ tries should consider the integrity of the present existing homeowners. Mr. <br /> Schloss read a letter from neighbors who could not attend the meeting, voicing <br /> their opposition to the proposed revision. Mr. Schloss suggested that alter- <br /> nate routes be used to take traffic off the residential streets, and stated he <br /> felt that all roads be completed before any more houses are built. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mark Curtis, 6025 Via De Los Cerros, representing his father at 6590 <br /> Hansen Drive, stated they are concerned about a street going in across from <br /> them; they do not want any more traffic on Hansen Drive. Mr. Curtis stated he <br /> objects to the development as a whole. He stated that streets are not desig- <br /> ned for major arteries. He suggested that roads be put through the current <br /> PUD area. He stated he is concerned about increased traffic on Via De Los <br /> Cerros, with the street pattern designed as it is now. <br /> <br /> Mr. Earl Randall, 6610 Hansen Drive, stated he concurs with the two pre- <br /> vious speakers. He stated it is critical to take the traffic load off Hansen <br /> Drive. <br /> <br /> Mr. Richard Pina, 6548 Hansen Drive, stated he is concerned about traffic <br /> congestion.
