287 <br /> Mr. Bob Eldred, 6057 Via De Los Cerros, presented his letter dated April <br /> 8, 1986, to Council. He stated he has concerns about increased traffic on Via <br /> De Los Cerros. He presented alternative so]utions, and stated he would be <br /> willing to meet with City Council, City staff and Ponderosa representatives to <br /> further discuss this issue. <br /> <br /> Mr. Fryer stated that Ponderosa Industries have not changed their plans <br /> since the general plan amendment. He stated they are in the process of draw- <br /> ing plans for the development at this time. When these are ready they wt11 be <br /> making application to the City. He advised that staff is looking at the final <br /> map. He reviewed the extension of Paseo Santa Cruz out to Valley, and advised <br /> that these improvements will be done this year. He stated they have con- <br /> tributed to the installation of a traffic signal at Valley and Paseo Santa <br /> Cruz. He stated that traffic patterns and design of streets has been looked <br /> at significantly and there should not be any concerns. He concluded by stat- <br /> ing the project is within the standards set by the City. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes stated that the area across from Hansen Drive was originally <br /> designated for a middle school. When that was removed as a spot for a school <br /> at the request of the School District, that area all became R-1-6500 zoning. <br /> He stated there is a commitment that this area be kept R-1-6500. He advised <br /> that Paseo Santa Cruz will be completed by the end of this year which will <br /> make a continuous street to Valley Avenue. <br /> <br />~--~ Mr. Mark Curtis stated he still has concern about increase in traffic on <br />Iml Via De Los Cerros and would prefer that alternate street patterns be <br />C)') considered. <br />':::Z[ There being no further testimony, Mayor Brandes declared the public hear- <br /> ing closed. <br /> <br /> The City Attorney advised that Council could not revoke a building permit <br /> after construction of houses has begun without paying compensation. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by <br /> Councilmember Mohr, that Resolution No. 86-167, approving AP-86-02, appeal by <br /> the City Council of a decision of the Planning Commission, and approving the <br /> application of Ponderosa Industries to subdivide an approximately 75 acre site <br /> into 254 parcels, ranging in size from 5,000 sq. ft. to approximately 12.4 <br /> acres, located generally in the area south of the Pleasanton Canal, north of <br /> Hansen Drive, and west of Valley Avenue and Camino Segura, subject to condi- <br /> tions contained in Staff Report 86:133, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: Councilmember Mercer <br /> <br /> AP-8~-01, Appeal by the City Council of a decision of the Planning Commis- <br /> sion's approva o Z-85-408, Application of The Associates for a signing 'pro- <br /> ; f <br /> gram ~or their building located at 4301 Hacienda Drive.
