Mayor Brandes presented the draft resolution declaring the results of the <br /> April 8, 1986 Special Election regarding Measure B "Shall the ordinance <br /> changing the appropriation limit and providing for public improvement projects <br /> including a new library and the Valley Avenue extension be adopted?", as fol- <br /> lows: YES - 4,500; NO - 637. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br /> that Resolution No. 86-166, declaring the results of the April 8, 1986 Special <br /> Election, be adopted. <br /> lhe roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Mercer <br /> <br /> Upon City Council's declaration of the election results, Ordinance No. <br /> 1252, an ordinance freezing tax rates, changing the appropriations limit and <br /> establishing priorities for expenditure of the Proposition 4 Revenues, is <br /> adopted this date and takes effect ten days thereafter. <br /> <br />Four-Way Stop Sign at Payne and Singletree <br /> Councilmember Wood stated the Traffic Committee has not yet made a recom- <br />mendation on the proposed four-way stop signs at Payne and Singletree that he <br />requested some time ago. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Resolution No. 86-155, establishing a four-way stop sign at Payne and <br />Singletree, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows:. <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: Councilmember Butler <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Mercer <br /> <br />Left Turn Arrow on First Street Signal at Vineyard Avenue <br /> Councilmember Mohr presented a petition that had been submitted to her, <br />signed by 64 residents, which read as follows: <br /> <br /> "We the undersigned, are residents of Pleasanton and are con- <br /> cerned by the lack of proper signals for left hand turn arrows <br /> off First Street into Ray Street and left hand signal (arrow) off <br /> First Street to Vineyard Avenue." <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated this action has been prompted by the residents <br />due to the dangerous condition at this intersection, and because one of the <br />citizens was involved in a serious accident. She stated Council has had dis- <br />cussions in the past regarding this intersection but no action was taken. <br /> <br /> Mr. Anthony Cavestri, 3988 First Street, stated he would appreciate some- <br />thing being done to put a left turn arrow on First Street to Vineyard Avenue. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr asked for a show of hands for those in support of this <br />matter. Approximately ten persons in the audience raised their hands in sup- <br />port of the issue. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Council instructed staff to prepare a report setting <br />forth possible resolutions to the problem, for consideration at the City Coun- <br />cil meeting of May 20, 1986. <br /> <br /> - 4 - 4-15-86 <br /> <br /> <br />
