Mr. Lund suggested that more ap- <br />propriate routes should be used for these lines to make them less visible to <br />the Valley residents. Mr. Walker stated this matter had just come to his at- <br />tention late last week and that he had not had time to investigate and prepare <br />a report. He advised that a letter has been sent to PG&E expressing the <br />City's concerns regarding the visible towers and lines. After discussion, <br />Council instructed staff to meet with the two affected property owners and <br />PG&E, and report back to Council regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jeff Glickman, 3229 Flemington Court, presented a letter to Council <br />regarding the Tri Valley YMCA and its desire and intention to construct a <br />full-service YMCA facility. He reviewed the services of the YMCA. He advised <br />that the Tri-Valley YMCA's Board has appointed a Facilities Committee to pre- <br />pare, by July 1, 1986, a comprehensive proposal for the construction of a <br />facility to meet the needs of the Dublin, Livermore and Pleasanton area; the <br />preliminary plans calls for an approximately 76,000 sq. ft. building on two to <br />five acres. He asked Council's guidance on who the Facilities Committee <br />should communicate with in the City to enhance the recreational facilities in <br />Pleasanton. Vice Mayor Mohr advised Mr. Glickman that he should contact the <br />Director of Parks and Community Services Dolores Bengtson regarding this <br />matter. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />RZ-86-2, Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend Section 2-5.35(a/, <br />Article 3, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the City of Pleasanton <br />concerning the required rear yard setbacks for Class I Accessory Structures in <br />the R-1 Zoning Districts <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 86:117) dated April 1, 1986, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Vice Mayor Mohr declared the public hearing open. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor of or in opposition to this item. <br /> Vice Mayor Mohr declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer stated he is opposed to this amendment for th~ same <br />reasons stated in his previous opposition to recent setback issues. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, <br />that Ordinance No. 1250, to be read by title only and waiving further reading <br />thereof, approving RZ-86-2, application of the City of Pleasanton to amend <br />Section 2-5.35(a), Article 3, Chapter 2, Title II of the Ordinance Code of the <br />City of Pleasanton concerning the required rear yard setbacks for Class I Ac- <br />cessory Structures in the R-1 Zoning District, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Wood, and Vice Mayor Mohr - <br />NOES: Councilmember Mercer <br />ABSENT: Mayor Brandes <br /> <br />MATTERS CONTINUED FOR DECISION <br /> There were no matters continued for decision presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />SPECIAL REPORTS <br /> There were no Special Reports presented at this meeting. <br /> <br /> 5 - 4-1-86 <br /> <br /> <br />
