She advised that Mr. Walker, City Man- <br /> ager, artended one of the first meetings and suggested that there might possi- <br /> bly be land at the future Corporation Yard of the City for an animal shelter. <br /> She stated that Mr. Walker has not artended'any of the subsequent meetings, <br /> and the Committee has not been able to take any further action pending addi- <br /> tional information regarding the suggested site at the new Corporation Yard in <br /> Pleasanton. Mr. Walker advised'that he has been unable to attend recent meet- <br /> ing regarding this matter but had talked to Mr. Regan, of Alameda County, re- <br /> cently to discuss possible sites for an animal shelter. He stated that the <br /> - Master Plan for the Corporation Yard will be coming to Council soon for con- <br /> sideration and at that time the use of two acres for an animal shelter can be <br /> discussed. Mayor Brandes advised Ms. Crosetti that Council realizes the ur- <br /> gency of this matter and will work with the County on the issue. <br /> <br /> Ms. Babe Tebo, 785 Rose Avenue, expressed her disappointment that a senior <br /> center has not been included in the projects to be constructed with surplus <br /> Proposition 4 money, as voted on by the electorate. She stated a senior cen- <br /> ter is needed to allow for craft classes as well as other activities. Mayor <br /> Brandes advised that Council intends to provide a senior center in conjunction <br /> with the new senior citizen housing project. <br />Ol PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />O1 PUD-81-30-34D~ Application of Rouse and Associates for design review approval <br />~--I to construct two single-story research and development/office buildings of <br />Iml approximately 42,500 sq. ft. and 44,630 sq. ft. each, to be located on an ap- <br /> proximately 6.8 acre site located on the south side of West Las Positas <br />f)') Boulevard at its intersection with Willow Road. Zoning for the property is <br />~ PUD (Planned Unit Develo ment)-industrial/Commercial and Offices District <br /> Mr. Swift presented lis report (SR 86:276) dated July 1, 1986, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Brandes declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Steve Chamberlain, representing Rouse and Associates, stated he con- <br />- curred with the staff report and conditions. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mercer asked if there would be any toxics on this property. <br /> Mr. Chamberlain stated that the buildings are done in a shell and finished as <br /> they are occupied.
