241 <br /> After discussion, Council determined to have a special installation meet- <br /> ing on November 11, 1986, 6:00 p.m. in the Pleasanton Council Chanbers. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the salary of the mayor. Mayor Bran- <br /> des stated he felt that the mayor should not receive any more compensation <br /> that a regular councilmember. Councilmember Mohr stated the community sup- <br /> ported the concept that the mayor would receive $100.00 more than councilmem- <br /> bers as shown on the ballot. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wood, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Ordinance No. 1283, to be read by title only and waiving further reading <br />thereof, establishing the compensation of the mayor at $100.00 in addition to <br />the mayor's salary as councilmember, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mercer, Mohr, and Wood <br />NOES: Mayor Brandes <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br />Authorize Filing of Appearance with PUC Reqarding PG&E 230 KV Power Line <br /> Mr. MacDonald presented his report (SR 86:447) dated October 28, 1986, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br />that Resolution No. 86-509, authorizing the Mayor to sent a letter to the <br />Public Utilities Commission clarifying the City's intentions regarding addi- <br />tional underground of Route R3 and authorizing the City Attorney to file a <br />protest formalizing the City's response to the PUC application, be adopted. <br />lhe roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mercer, Mohr, Wood, and Mayor Brandes <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br />Report on Twelve Oaks Situation <br /> Mr. MacDonald presented his report (IR 86:89) dated October 22, 1986, <br />regarding this matter. No action was required or taken by Council on the <br />item. <br /> <br />Requested Clarification of Fire Sprinkler Ordinance <br /> Mr. MacDonald presented his report (SR 86:469) dated October 27, 1986, <br />regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding the definition of living room areas. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Wood, <br />that the definition of living room areas be as suggested by the Fire Chief <br />which includes dens, dining rooms, recreational rooms as well as the tradi- <br />tional designation of a living room. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr and Wood <br />NOES: Councilmember Mercer and Mayor Brandes <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mercer, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Ordinance No. 1284, to be read by title only and waiving further reading <br />thereof, amending the Fire Sprinkler Ordinance to include the requirement of <br />sprinklers in kitchens, garages, family rooms, living rooms, and any room with <br /> <br /> 13 - 10-28-86 <br /> <br /> <br />
