371 <br /> <br />Request for Report from Library Committee <br /> Councilmember Wilson requested a report from the Library Committee regard- <br />ing the following: (1) committee charges; (2) what decisions they have made to <br />date; (3) whether those decisions were returned to the City Council for ap- <br />proval; (4) in the future can Council have a monthly report as to the actions <br />the Library Committee is making; (5) are there public hearing held on this <br />matter and do citizens participate; (6) is the School District consulted; (7) <br />all of the decisions the Committee has already made; and (8) who controls the <br />spending of the Committee and does the Committee spend under City Council ap- <br />proval. Mayor Mercer instructed staff to prepare a report regarding this mat- <br />ter and place on the agenda for January 20, 1987. <br /> <br />Senior Citizen Housinq Project <br /> Councilmember Wilson submitted his memorandum regardin9 the Senior Citizen <br />Housing Project relative to scope of charges for the Citizens Advisory Commit- <br />tee and City staff. Mayor Mercer instructed staff to prepare a report in con- <br />junction with Councilmember Wilson's memorandum and place this matter on the <br />agenda of January 20, 1987, for discussion. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated that Pleasanton liaison members have a meet- <br />ing scheduled with the East Bay Regional Park District Board to discuss items <br />that relate to this area. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> No one in the audience addressed the Chair. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PUD-80-2-3D, Application of NCR Corporation/Bernal Avenue Associates for <br />design review approval for an approximately 34,670 sq. ft. office building to <br />be located on an approximately 3.6 acre site on the west side of Koll Center <br />Parkway adjacent to 1-680. Zoning for the property is PUD (Planned Unit <br />Development)-Industrial/Commercial and Offices District <br /> Mr. Swift presented hi~ report (SR 87:02) dated January 6, 1987, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer decla~'eO the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Terry Johnson, LPN Architects, representing the applicant, stated he <br />concurs with the staff report and recommendations. He presented plans and <br />displays showing the design of the proposed project. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes asked if sales would be generated from the office <br />and would Pleasanton receive a sales tax. Mr. Johnson advised that the <br />facility itself as conceived by NCR is a district office and it represents the <br />marketing effort of NCR in the East Bay area. All of the electronic media <br />project will be marketed out of this office. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler asked if the signing program is final so there will <br />not be problems later on the type or number of signs. Mr. Johnson advised the <br />signage plans are specific and have been approved by staff. <br /> <br /> 18 - 1-6-87 <br /> <br /> <br />
