The parcel is currently designated <br /> "Specific Plan - Low Density Residential" on the General Plan and requires a <br /> specific plan to be prepared prior to development plan approval <br /> <br /> Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing Open on this item, and continued <br /> it to the meeting of August 4, 1987, 8:00 p.m., in the Pleasanton Council <br /> · Chambers, at the request of Council. <br /> <br /> RZ-87-6, Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the Growth Management <br /> Ordinance to eliminate extension of Growth Management approval beyond one <br /> year, revise procedures for exempt projects, modify the definition of exempt <br /> projects, or any other amendment consistent with the goals and policies of the <br /> General Plan <br /> <br /> Consider Adoption of Neqative Declaration <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing Open on this item, and continued <br /> it to the meeting of August 4, 1987, 8:00 p.m., in the Pleasanton Council <br /> Chambers, at the request of Council. <br /> <br />~ AP-87-12, Appeal of a decision of the Planning Commission denying the applica- <br />-) tion of Harbor View Investment, Inc., to rezone from "A" (Agricultural/ Dis- <br /> trict to PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Commercial and Offices District and <br /> Q3 development plan approval for a seven-story 150 room hotel, restaurant, and <br /> related facilities, to be located on an approximately 3.6 acre site located at <br /> 11920 Old Dublin Canyon Road <br /> <br /> Consider Adoption of Neqative Declaration <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 87:312) dated July 21, 1987, regarding <br /> this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the appeal and the nega- <br /> tive declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jack Smith, Attorney, 23320 Foothill Boulevard, hayward~ representing <br /> the appellant, stated this application came before Council in 1985 in a dif- <br /> ferent form; it has now been revised and made a better project. He stated it <br /> is in a good location on the freeway and entrance to the City~ has a 600 <br /> capacity banquet facility, adequate underground on-site parking, exciting <br /> design, expanded landscaping, and the concept of rooms is a suite hotel. He <br /> advised that TJKM Traffic Consultants has confirmed that traffic will meet <br /> standards when the Stoneridge Drive Interchange is in place, and the project <br /> has been conditioned thus and is acceptable to the applicant. He stated they <br /> will be good neighbors and the proposed project meets all City criteria. He <br /> stated he concurs with the staff report and all conditions contained therein. <br /> <br /> Mr. Frank Capilla, #9 Twelve Oaks Drive, stated there is a great need for <br /> the large type banquet facility in Pleasanton as presented with this develop- <br /> ment.
