Mr. Geoff Etnire, 4322 Fairlands, stated that when this application was <br />first presented he had concerns about traffic and another hotel without ade- <br />quate banquet facilities; he is pleased with the suite hotel concept, the ban- <br />quet facilities, and feels it will be a good addition to the economy. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to the item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br />closed on the appeal and the negative declaration. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wil- <br />son, that Resolution No. 87-324, determining on the basis of a review of ini- <br />tial environmental study done for this project, that no significant environ- <br />mental impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a <br />negative declaration is appropriate in connection with PUD-87~2, application <br />of Harbor View Investment, Inc., to rezone from "A" (Agricultural) District to <br />PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Commercial and Offices District and development <br />plan approval for a seven-story 150 room hotel, restaurant, and related <br />facilities, to be located on an approximately 3.6 acre site, located at 11920 <br />Old Dublin Canyon Road, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Wilson, that Ordinance No. 1324, to be read by title only and <br />waiving further reading thereof, and after finding that the rezoning and <br />development plan are consistent with the General Plan and purposes of the PUD <br />Ordinance, approve AP-87-12, appeal of Harbor View Investments of a decision <br />of the Planning Commission denying the application, and approving PUD-87-2, <br />application of Harbor View Investment, Inc., to rezone from "A" (Agricultural) <br />District to PUD (Planned Unit Development)-Commercial and Offices District and <br />development plan approval for a seven-story 150 room hotel, restaurant, and <br />related facilities, to be located on an approximately 3.6 acre site, located <br />at 11920 Old Dublin Canyon Road, subject to all conditions contained in Staff <br />Report 87:312, be introduced. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Butler <br /> <br />GP-87-5, Application of Prudential Insurance Company of America to amend the <br />Land Use Element designation of the General Plan for an approximately 19.3 <br />acre site from Industrial/Commercial and Offices to High Density Residential <br />located generally in the area bounded by Hopyard Road, Inglewood Drive, <br />Coronado Lane, and Chabot Canal.
