CONSENT CALENDAR It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Bran- des,that the following items listed on the Consent Calendar be approved: a. Approval of City Council Minutes for 7-7-87. b. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-300, denial of the claim of Greg Canfield which was related to a claim filed by Aune Johansen, Mervi Murphy and Joe Murphy, and was denied on November 21, 1986. The claim arose from an ac- cident involving Aune Johansen on October 5, 1986 when she tripped on a sidewalk that was raised by a tree planted on Mr. Canfield's property; and referring this matter to the City Attorney for further handling. c. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-301, authorizing the City to institute a lawsuit against Mr. John Byrne, who injured Police Officer Aracne while resisting arrest; and authorizing the City Attorney to initiate the law- suit and, if successful, to collect upon the judgment. d.Adoption of Resolution No. 87-302, acceptance of a grant deed from Shea Homes for approximately 4.7 acres as described in Staff Report 87:304. e. 'Adoption of Resolution No. 87-303, approval of authorization to purchase easement from Amador Valley Joint Union High School in the amount of $1,460.00, and from Mike E. and Susan Frost in the amount of $11,320.00 for the proposed Sycamore Water Reservoir; acceptance of easements as stated above; and authorizing the Mayor to execute all appropriate docu- ments to purchase these easements. f. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-304, approval of negotiated settlement City of Pleasanton vs. Warren Avenue Associates, et al, in order to con- struct the North Pleasanton Improvement District project at Hopyard/I-580 interchange; and authorizing the Mayor to execute all documents, and ac- cept a grant deed for said property. g. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-305, approval of negotiated settlement City of Pleasanton vs. Frumenti Development Corporation, et al, in order to construct t~e North Pleasanton Improvement District project at Hopyard/ 1-580 interchange; and authorizing the Mayor to execute all documents, and accept a grant deed for said property. h. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-306, approval of the $11,000 settlement in City of Pleasanton vs. MCI Telecommunications Corporation, et al, Livermore-Pleasanton Judicial District, No. C-14164, as set forth in Staff Report 87:308. i. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-307, authorizing execution of release of note and deed of trust for property at 2055 Research Drive; and authoriz- ing the Mayor to execute all documents necessary to convey this property, as set forth in Staff Report 87:309. j. Adoption of Resolution No. 87-308, accepting the single bid from Paoletti Company to purchase a new rescue squad in the total amount of $119,663.71; giving the authorization to proceed with construction; and amending the Capital Improvement Budget by $4,313.71 to cover the added cost. - 3 7-21-87
