119 <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wilson, and sconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that this item be added to the agenda. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wilson, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Resolution No. 87-217, confirming the appointment of Marion Lowe as a <br />tenant member of the Pleasanton Housing Authority Commission for a term of two <br />years, said term to expire May 1, 1989, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Wilson, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br />that Resolution No. 87-218, confirming the appointment of Christine Pearson <br />and William Wruck as Regular Members, and Valerie Hurst as Alternate Member on <br />the Human Services Commission, each for four year terms, said terms to expire <br />May 20, 1991, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she had received a call from a resident on Long- <br />spur Way regarding noise from the Popi Lounge because of the doors being left <br />open during the recent hot weather, and also a problem with the parking of a <br />large refri9erator truck that was left running, in the controlled parking <br />space. Mr. Swift advised that parking lot has not been totally completed and <br />the control gates are not in operation. He stated the Popi Lounge is in <br />violation of the Code to leave their doors open and he will investigate the <br />complaint. Councilmember Mohr requested staff to write a letter to the resi- <br />dents on Longspur advising them of the parking controls. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated that Councilmembers have received a letter <br />from Congressman Stark advising them of the proposed expansion of the Federal <br />Correctional Institute in Dublin by a 150 bed detention center, and requesting <br />comments from Council regarding this matter. Mayor Mercer advised there is to <br />be a meeting on June 11, at 10:00 a.m., to discuss this matter. He stated he <br />met with Wardin Roberts this date, who advised him of the meeting and invited <br />all elected officials, as well as City staff and the Police Chief to the meet- <br />ing. After discussion, Council decided to take no action on this matter until <br />after that meeting. Councilmember Brandes requested that Congressman Stark be <br />advised that Council will make comments regarding this matter after that <br />meeting. <br /> <br />CITY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS <br /> Councilmember Butler advised that the TWA Environmental Impact Report will <br />be considered on June 17, 1987, 7:30 p.m., in the Pleasanton Council Chambers. <br /> <br />MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC <br /> Mr. Gene Finch, President of the Pleasanton Downtown Association, stated <br /> the Board is concerned about the impact of the improvements on Bernal Avenue <br /> and First Street.
