No action was required or taken by Council on the item. <br /> <br />MATTERS INIIIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br />Discussion reOardin9 AB 2190 and AB 2191, District-wide Elections for Cities <br />over 25,000 <br /> Mayor Mercer presented the memorandum of the City Attorney regarding these <br />proposed bills. <br /> <br /> After discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 87-216, expressing City Council's <br />strong opposition to AB 2190 and AB 2191, to require district-wide elections <br />for cities over 25,000 population, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer instructed staff to send copies of the above resolution to <br />the appropriate legislators. <br /> <br />Appointment of Pleasanton Housing Authority Tenant Member and Appointment of <br />Human Services Commissioners <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he did not have his memorandum regarding this matter <br />prepared in time for inclusion on the agenda and he would like to add it at <br />this time. <br /> <br /> 3 5-19-87 <br /> <br /> <br />
