Council concurred that it was in the best interests of the community to <br />review this situation. Mayor Mercer instructed staff to place the item on the <br />agenda for December 15th, placing it under Matters Initiated by <br />Councilmembers. <br /> <br /> Mr. Norman Reid, Main Street, presented a letter written by Victor Lund, _ <br />expressing his opposition to the design of the street construction at the <br />south end of Main street and stating the adverse impact it has on his business <br />at 235 Main Street. <br /> <br /> Mr. Reid also presented a letter from Ronald R. Johnson stating his op- <br />position to the street configuration and signage at the south end of town. <br /> <br /> Mr. David Stites, 1296 Harvest Road, stated there is a traffic problem at <br />the intersection of Harvest and Golden because of a blind curve on Golden. He <br />requested that a four-way stop sign be placed at this location. He presented <br />Council with a report showing possible solution to this dangerous situation. <br /> <br /> After discussion, Mayor Mercer requested this item be placed on the next <br />agenda for action by Council. <br /> <br /> Ms. Elissa Glickman, 3229 Flemington Court, thanked Council for this ac- <br />tion approving a crossing guard for the Fairlands School on West Las Positas <br />Boulevard. <br /> <br /> Ms. Carolyn Cardinelli, 2140 Crestline Road, representing the Pleasanton <br />Junior Women's Club, invited Council and everyone to the annual Christmas Tree <br />lighting ceremony on December 3, 1987, 6:45 p.m., in front of the Museum. <br /> <br /> Mr. Scott Miner, 1507 Ramblewood Way, stated there is need for stop signs <br />at Greenwood and Ridgewood Roads at Harvest. Mayor Mercer requested this mat- <br />ter be referred to the Traffic Committee for review and recommendation. <br /> <br /> Mr. Miner also requested that attention be given to the excessive water <br />from sprinklers on Hopyard Road. Mayor Mercer explained that the City has an <br />ordinance against excessive sprinkling, and that the developer, Hacienda Busi- <br />ness Park, is fined when this happens. He stated there is a problem and the <br />City is trying to resolve the matter. <br /> <br /> Mr. Gene Finch, 649 Main Street, stated that the south end of Main Street <br />has been discussed by the Downtown Association and staff. He stated he is <br />pleased that the Planning Commission and City Council is willing to look fur- <br />ther at this problem. He stated there is also a problem on Bernal Avenue with <br />signage referring to left turn lane and thru traffic near the Police Station. <br />He requested staff review this matter. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PUD-81-30-41D, Application of Lyon's Restaurant for design review approval to <br />construct an approximately 4,774 sq. ft. restaurant and related improvements <br /> t <br />on an approximately 0.27 acre si e within Gateway Square, an approved commer- <br />cial center located at 4889 Hopyard Road. Zonin9 for the property is PUD <br />(Planned Unit Development)-Commercial Industrial, and Offices District <br /> · Mayor Mercer declared the public ~earing Open on this item, and continued <br />it to the meeting of January 19, 1988, 8:00 p.m., in the Pleasant Council <br />Chambers, at the request of the applicant. <br /> <br /> 5 - 12-1-87 <br /> <br /> <br />
