Sutter Gate Park is an approximately 2.7 acre undeveloped <br /> linear park located south of the Arroyo Mocho, west of Santa Rita Road and <br /> north of Sutter Gate. The proposed Master Plan includes a pathway~ landscap- <br /> ing, tot lot, benches and lighting <br /> <br /> Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration <br /> '-- Ms. Bengtson presented her report (SR 88:75) dated February 16, 1988, <br /> regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the <br /> negative declaration. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lou Rodriquez, who lives adjacent to the park, expressed concern <br /> regarding the number of access points to the pathway lanes. He felt this <br /> would increase vehicular and motorcycle traffic and create a dangerous situa- <br /> tion. He suggested that there be access only at each end to allow for emer- <br /> gency and maintenance vehicles. He asked that this matter be reviewed <br /> further. <br /> <br /> Ms. Bengtson stated that the curb cuts can be narrowed, or bollards could <br /> be placed at the access points to prevent unnecessary traffic. She advised <br /> that the plan being considered tonight is the Master Plan; design detail will <br /> be reviewed later and this matter can be discussed at that time. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing <br /> closed on the application and the negative declaration. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wil- <br /> son, that Resolution No. 88-78, determining on the basis of a review of ini- <br /> tial environmental study done for this project, that no significant environ- <br /> -- mental impact would occur as outlined in the City's guidelines and that a <br /> negative declaration is appropriate in connection with the application of the <br /> City of Pleasanton for approval of the Master Plan for Sutter Gate Park, be <br /> adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br /> NOES: None <br /> ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Mohr, <br /> that Resolution No. 88-79, approval of the application of the City of Pleasan- <br /> ton for approval of the Master Plan for Sutter Gate Park, an approximately 2.7 <br /> acre undeveloped linear park located south of the Arroyo Mocho, west of Santa <br /> Rita Road and north of Sutter Gate, be adopted. <br /> The roll call vote was as follows: <br /> <br /> - 5 - 2-16-88 <br /> <br /> <br />
