Mr. MacDonald advised the <br /> final filing date is August 12, 1988. <br /> <br /> Ms. Pat Griffin, 1055 Kottinger Drive, asked that landscaping be included <br /> in the upcoming Capital Improvement Program for Kottinger Drive near the park. <br /> She stated this area badly needs attention. <br /> <br /> PUBLIC HEARINGS <br /> AP-88-05, Appeal by the City Council of Planning Commission's decision for <br /> approval of Z-87-552~ Application of Robert Berkey for design review approval <br /> of a comprehensive sign program for the approximately 13,500 sq. ft. Lincoln/ <br /> Mercury Auto Dealership to be located at 4340 Rosewood Drive. Zoning for the <br /> property is PUD (Planned Unit Development}-Commercial District <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report {SR 88:64) dated February 16, 1988, regard- <br /> ing this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Martin Inderbitzen, 62 W. Neal Street, reprsenting the applicant, <br /> stated he has read and reviewed the staff report and concurs with staff <br /> recommendations. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he is concerned that the ordinance allows a dealership <br /> to open then that dealer can sell as many different kinds of automobiles as he <br /> wants. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to this item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Council discussion ensued regarding signing and parking requirements as <br /> well as restrictions on kinds of automobiles that can be sold under an ap- <br /> proved PUD. It was the consensus of Council that the present ordinances ade- <br /> quately control the parking and kinds of automobiles of a dealership. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Wilson, <br /> that Resolution No. 88-77, denying AP-88-05, appeal by the City Council of <br /> Planning Commission's decision for approval of Z-87-552, application of Robert <br /> Berkey for design review approval of a comprehensive sign program for the ap- <br /> proximately 13,500 sq. ft.
