She <br />advised that her family has six cars, therefore the permit parking fee would <br />cost her $30.00, which she felt would be money well spent. She is in favor of <br />the ordinance. She advised that there were more postal employees than high <br />school students parking in front of her house. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jere~y Turn, 7862 Oak Creek Drive, stated the ordinance would lessen <br />accidents and reduce the trash problem that is created fk-ce-~ student parking. <br />He stated he would rather not have the restricted parking but felt it is an <br />amenable solution to the problem. <br /> <br /> Mr. Warren Straight, 4120 Jensen Street, stated there may be problems <br />with houses that are not within the restricted area; students may move on down <br />to park their cars. He advised that trash is the biggest oat~laint. He <br />suggested that students be charged a parking fee rather than the hcm~MTaler. <br /> <br /> Mr. A1 Lucas, 4308 Camellia Court, member of the c~mittee to review this <br />matter, stated that 80% of the residents adjacent to Foothill High School are <br />in favor of the proposed ordinance; 95% would be in favor of it except for the <br />fee associated with the parking permits. He stated that students leaving <br />trash during the lunch hour is the prime concern. He stated that after <br />working with City staff and the Police Department he feels this is the most <br />effective solution to the problem. <br /> <br /> Mr. Joe Wolfenber~er, 4185 School Street, stated it is his understanding <br />that the City gave money to the School District to enlarge the parking lot at <br />the high school; he felt that if the City could do this then they should not <br />charge a fee to the residents to park their cars. He stated he is in favor of <br />the ordinance but opposed to the fee for the permit. <br /> <br /> Mr. George Williams, representing his parents on School Street, ask_~__ why <br />School Street was not included in the restricted zone. He stated he has <br />signatures from 24 of the 34 residents who are in favor of the parking <br />restriction, however they are concerned about the $10.00 fee. Mr. Walker <br />advised that the petition received f~-c~ School Street did not have the <br />required 67% signatures to be included in the restricted parking zone. <br /> <br /> Mr. Wolfenberger stated his entire block is in favor of the ordinance but <br />without the fee. <br /> <br /> Mr. Lucas stated that a petition was circulated on Forsythia Court and <br />that 9 out of 12 residents had signed in favor of the restricted parking. <br /> <br /> Mr. Rick Martin,, 4355 Camellia Court, stated when he bought his house <br />five months ago he was told he might sometimes hear the high school band <br />his location; he w-as not told he would be the high school dump.
