He stated if this item is continued these are the <br />matters he would like included in the plan. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Wilson stated he is willing to meet with the new developer <br />to see what changes cam be mutually agreed upon. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated that staff has identified six issues; she felt <br />it would be helpful to staff if Council took a position on each of these is- <br />sues. She stated that other issues could be addressed at the PUD stage. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated he tried a year ago to get this area zoned to one unit <br />per acre but could get Council support to do this. The neighbors have invest- <br />ed a substantial amount of time and effort relative to the matter, and now <br />there is a new developer; he felt the nieghbors are entitled to the best solu- <br />tion that can be worked out. He added that he is not in favor of the present <br />plan. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated this is one of the properties he tried to get <br />into a ten year urban plan, that would allow time to see how the area should <br />be planned. He did not think it is Council's job to redesign a project; TMI <br />has a specific plan and he felt it should be denied and let them come back <br />with a new plan. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember Wilo <br />son to deny SP-87ol, the plans and policies relating to the TMI Specific Plan. <br /> <br /> After further discussion, Councilmember Wilson presented a substitute mo- <br />tion, seconded by Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 88-287, denying <br />without.prejudice SP-87-1, application of the City of Pleasanton for adoption <br />of plans and policies relating to the TMI Specific Plan Area, an approximately <br />155 acre site located generally east of Foothill Road, north of Bernal Avenue, <br />and west of Interstate 680, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler, Mohr, Wilson, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmember Butler <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that Council is willing to work with the neighbors and <br />developer on a new plan for this property. <br /> <br />item gb <br />GP-88-2, Application of Pleasanton Joint School District to amend the Land Use <br />Element designation of the General Plan' from Medium Density Residential and <br />High Density Residential to Public and Institutional for an approximately 27 <br />acre site located at the southwest corner of the intersection of Bernal Avenue <br />and Case Avenue <br /> <br />Consider Adoption of Negative Declaration <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 88:280) dated June 21, 1988, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on the application and the <br />negative declaration. <br /> <br /> 9 - 6-21-88 <br /> <br /> <br />
