409 <br /> <br /> After further discussion, it was moved by Councilmember Butler, and secon- <br />ded by Mayor Mercer, that Ordinance No. 1362, approval of RZ-88-4, application <br />of the City of Pleasanton to amend the Municipal Code to allow the placement <br />of real estate open house directional signs within a public right-of-way, be <br />adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Butler and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: Councilmember Brandes <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wilson <br />ABSTAINED:Councilmember Mohr <br /> <br /> Because of the tie vote, Mayor Mercer declared this item continued to the <br />meeting of June 17, 1988, for full Council attendance. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS <br /> There were no reports of Boards and Commissions presented at this meeting. <br /> <br />REPORTS OF THE CITY MANAGER <br />item 12a <br />Report on Proposed Soundwall at Pimlico and Santa Rita Road <br /> Mr. Elliott presented his report {SR 88:251) dated June 2, 1988, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Councilmember But- <br />ler, that Resolution No. 88-260, authorizing the expenditure of $30,000.00 <br />from the general fund for the design and construction of a soundwall at Pimli- <br />co and Santa Rita Road, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: Councilmember Wilson <br /> <br />item 12b <br />Approval of Proposed Phasinq, Allocation of Funding for First Phase, and Award <br />of Desiqn Engineerinq Contract for the Foothill Road Soundwall <br /> Mr. Elliott presented his report (SR 88:252) dated June 2, 1988, regarding <br />this matter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Shetrill Michelotte, 7873 Olive Court, asked if there would be a re- <br />view of the soundwall; she was concerned about the height of the soundwall <br />behind her home. Mayor Mercer advised that there will be further hearings on <br />this matter to allow for public input. <br /> <br /> Mr. Charles Doda, 7983 Applewood Court, stated he felt the soundwall <br />should be 6-8 feet high in order to abate the noise. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he had a difficult time with this because he <br />is not convinced that $750,000.00 is appropriately spent in this sport at this <br />time; he is concerned about the priority and this amount of money. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by Mayor Mercer, that <br />Resolution No. 88-261, allocating $300,000.00 from the general fund for the <br />complete design of the Foothill Road soundwall and construction of the first <br />phase, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, and Mayor Mercer <br /> <br /> 6-7-88 <br /> <br /> <br />
