423 <br /> <br />Offices District <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 88:574) dated December 20, <br />1988, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Jim Gresham, 7020 Koll Center Parkway, representing the <br />Koll Company, stated he agrees to the conditions set forth in the <br />staff report regarding off and on ramps. Council discussion <br />ensued regarding the height of the buildings, the loading berth <br />area, and landscaping. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in opposition to the item. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the <br />public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 88-592, approving PUD- <br />80-2-11D, application of the Koll Company for design review <br />approval of two five story office buildings, totalling 250,000 sq. <br />ft. of floor area to be constructed on an approximately 12.8 acre <br />site located at 6711 Koll Center Parkway, subject to conditions on <br />Attachment A of Staff Report 88:574, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />item 9e <br />AP-88-30, Appeal by William Davis of a decision of the Planning <br />Commission denying approval of Case UP-88-57, the application of <br />Charles and Rose McCracken for a conditional use permit to operate <br />a recreational facility (indoor batting range) in coniunction with <br />a proposed wholesale business establishment (silk screening and <br />embroidery) to be located at 7039 Commerce Circle. Zoning for <br />the property is I-G (General Industrial) District <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 88:582) dated December 20, <br />1988, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open on this item. <br /> <br /> Mr. Bill Davis, 7677 Knollbrook, spokesman for Commerce <br />Circle Way, stated the reason he appealed this item is because of <br />his concern for the safety of children; he feels this facility <br />will create a dangerous situation. He stated the staff reports <br />refers to the installation of an eight foot sidewalk; this has not <br />been approved in the Capital Improvement Program yet so it <br />probably will not be built for 2-3 years. He stated the staff <br />report accurately reports there is no bicycle traffic to AVAC; <br />people have to go by car to reach this facility. He did not feel <br />the comparison with a similar Concord facility was fair as the one <br />in Concord if much farther away from a residential area.
