387 <br /> <br />Council's affirmative vote on the signs, which will be functional <br />as well as tasteful. <br /> <br /> Ms. Patty Neilson, representing Owens-Illinois at 6150 <br />Stoneridge Mall Road, stated they have been a tenant over two <br />years; they do not want to see signage on their building or any <br />existing adjacent building. She strongly objected to the proposed <br />signs. She presented letters to Council from other tenants who <br />are opposed to the signage. <br /> <br /> There being no further testimony, Mayor Mercer declared the <br />public hearing closed on this item. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Brandes, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Butler, that Resolution No. 88-566, denying AP-88- <br />28, appeal by the Mozart Development Company of a decision of the <br />Design Review Board denying approval of the application for design <br />review approval to install two wall-mounted, non-illuminated <br />tenant identification signs to be located at 6150 Stoneridge Mall <br />Road, be adopted. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />item 9e <br />RZ-88-11, Application of the City of Pleasanton to amend the <br />Municipal Code to allow "automobile supply stores" as a permitted <br />or conditionally permitted use in the C-N (Neighborhood <br />Commercial) District <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 88:541) dated December 6, <br />1988, regarding this matter. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing. <br /> <br /> No one in the audience spoke in favor ofor in opposition to <br />the item. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing closed. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler stated he made the suggestion when this <br />matter was considered before that machine shops and related uses <br />be excluded. He expressed concern that repair and installation <br />service are permitted uses and would prefer this be specifically <br />excluded. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Brandes stated he shares this concern and feels <br />it should not be a permitted use. <br /> <br /> Councilmember Mohr stated she saw the use as being limited <br />already as being not much more than a hardware store and thus it <br />would not be inappropriate to have it in a neighborhood shopping <br />center.
