Mr. Roush advised that given the amount of <br />publicity generated by the item that it might be profitable to <br />take input regarding whether or not the ordinance should be <br />repealed, but it is not mandatory to conduct a public hearing; it <br />is within the Council's discretion. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer stated that he will take testimony regarding <br />this matter, and that it is important to keep in mind that the <br />issue is the ordinance only. <br /> <br />The following persons spoke in favor of repealing the cardroom <br />regulation ordinance. <br /> <br />Ms. Joyce Getty, owner of 500 Main Street, stated she does <br />not feel there is a need for a cardroom in Pleasanton.
