She felt that if a cardroom is allowed it should be some
place else other than Main Street.

Mr. Leo Heckathorn, 4202 Stanley Boulevard, stated he is in
favor of the Pastime Pool remaining exactly like it is. He added
that everyone in the area uses the Pastime parking lot to park.

Ms. Birdie Bianchi, Railroad Avenue, stated she would like to
see the Pastime Pool running in an efficient manner; she favors a
cardroom. She commended the Police Chief for cleaning up the
streets from the sale of drugs in the area of the pool room.

PUBLIC HEARINGS
item 9a
Kamp Drive and Nielsen Park Acquisition
(1) Adoption of Resolution of Necessity Re: Molinary Property;
and Condemnation or Purchase of Land for Nielsen Park

(2] Aareement with Catholic Church for Land Needed for Nielsen
Park and Acceptance of Grant Deed
Councilmember Mohr advised she would abstain from
participation in this matter because of Conflict of Interest.

Mr. Beougher presented his report (SR 88:413 and SR 88:414)
dated September 6, 1988, regarding these two items.

Mayor Mercer declared the public hearing open.

Mr. Martin Inderbitzen, 62 W. Neal Street, representing Mr.
Molinaro specifically and the Catholic Church in general, stated
he has been working with staff on the agreements and is prepared
to go forward with the agreements with both parties making offers
of dedication as set forth therein.

Mr. Roy Dronkers, 1923 Rheem Drive, representing 200 homes of
Mohr Park, stated they are concerned that elimination of the
Molinaro property from the Stoneridge Specific Plan will allow an
increase in density, which they are opposed to. Mayor Mercer
explained that this action tonight does not change the zoning, and
that the Specific Plan will require a public hearing at which time
any concerned citizens may speak.

- 7 -

9-6-88
