stated it will be the recommendation of the Review Committee to <br />retain the twenty homes; the people who will be moving in these <br />homes will be notified before they buy that there will be noise <br />from the airport. <br /> <br /> Mr. Stanley Rathbone, 325 Ray Street, stated that Oakland <br />Airport required 45 degree turns until there was an accident; then <br />it rescinded this requirement. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution No. 89-170, supporting the <br />recommendations of the Livermore Airport Citizens Advisory <br />Committee with the exception of No. 12, (that the City of <br />Pleasanton reconsider the development of the twenty homes <br />currently proposed east of the existing residential development - <br />California Place), that the regional airport advisory committee <br />include a member from the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors <br />instead of from LAFCO, and that the City of Livermore ask the FAA <br />to enforce the noise abatement procedures, be adopted. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer asked that the motion be amended to state that <br />if Livermore does not adopt the recommendations of the Committee <br />then there should be compliance with Section 5 of Resolution No. <br />88-117, which provides as follows: "Staff is directed to call to <br />the attention of Livermore and the FAA to changed circumstances <br />which require that the 1985 EIR be updated to focus on the impact <br />of the proposed pavement structure and its ability for heavy jet <br />traffic and to request a delay on the runway expansion until the <br />environmental update is done". <br /> <br /> Councilmember Butler amended his motion to include the above. <br />Councilmember Brandes amended his second accordingly. <br /> <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br /> <br />item 6c <br />Support for the Bay Trail <br /> Mayor Mercer presented a letter from the Association of Bay <br />Area Governments, requesting support for the Bay Trail which, when <br />completed, will pass through all nine of the region's counties, <br />linking recreation areas and open space along the shoreline and <br />creating connections between inland communities and the Bay <br />shoreline. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by <br />Councilmember Tarver, that Resolution No. 89-171, endorsing the <br />Bay Trail as presented by the Association of Bay Area Governments, <br />be adopted. <br /> <br /> - 9 - <br /> <br /> <br />
