Mr. Martin Inderbitzen, 62 West Neal Street, stated he is a
member of the Airport Committee and the only one not in favor of
the recommendations. He urged Council to be vigilant and to
encourage the committee to be aware of all the facts; he was
frustrated at the way information was received. He suggested that
a noise assessment study be conducted. He stated that a pilot
training school to be located at the Livermore Airport was
considered recently by the Airport Commission but he was told that
it will not locate there now. He expressed concern that this
might happen at a later time.

Mr. Stu McGehee, 2958 Lethbridge Court, and member of the
Airport Committee, stated he concurs with the committee's
recommendations. Living in the area that is directly affected by
the airport noise, he does not feel that a noise study is
necessary. He stated there has been a lot of imput from the FAA
- and users of the airport and all are in agreement with the
recommendations with the exception of Mr. Inderbitzen. He stated
the 45 degree turn is safe and will eliminate 90% of the problems.
He stated the Livermore Commission has recommended that the 45
degree turn not be approved. He stated this has been a two year
battle and he urged Council to approve the recommendations in the
report. He felt it would have been good for the Livermore and
Pleasanton City Councils to consider this item together but that
did not work out; the report will be presented to the City of
Livermore at a later date.

Councilmember Butler stated the committee has done a good job
to come up with its recommendations; the runway extensions and the
45 degree take off will improve the situation. He stated he could
support all the recommendations with the exception of the City of
Pleasanton reconsidering the development of the twenty homes
currently proposed east of the existing residential development
(California Place). He feels this is different from the Staples
Ranch. He stated that if there is to be a noise study done it
will help Council to better understand the situation. He
requested that the City of Livermore ask that this be put in
place.

Mr. McGehee stated he disagreed with having the twenty homes
near the airport; it is not fair to the families who buy the
homes.

Mayor Mercer stated he felt a member of the Board of
Supervisors, representing Dublin, San Ramon, and Danville, would
be a better selection as a member on a regional airport advisory
committee, rather than a member of LAFCO.

Mr. McGehee stated he does not have a problem with this
suggestion.

Mr. Chris Haynam, 3035 Ferndale Court, and member of the
Stoneridge Drive Citizens Review Committee, stated the proposed
twenty homes are a transition and buffer for existing homes.
