Mr. Carlucci stated that various legislators are involved in <br />this matter and perhaps Council could make its position known to <br />these people. <br /> <br /> Mayor Mercer requested staff to get additional information on <br />this matter for Council review. <br /> <br /> Ms. Hillary Granum, 5021 Hillcrest Way, stated there is a <br />dangerous situation at Lydickson School for children crossing the <br />street at Drywood and Highland Oaks Boulevard. She requested that <br />Council consider placing stop signs at this location. Mayor <br />Mercer instructed staff to investigate this matter and bring a <br />report back to Council in one month. <br /> <br /> Ms. Pat Griffin, 1055 Kottinger Drive, stated that there <br />needs to be landscaping through Kottinger Park at the Bernal <br />Avenue extension, which she brought to Council's attention <br />previously. Mr. Walker advised this improvement is not in the <br />Capital Improvement Program budget for this year. Mayor Mercer <br />stated there will be a public hearing held on the Capital <br />Improvement Program on March 21, 1989, and that is the time for <br />requests such as this to be presented. <br /> <br /> Ms. Elaine Buckland, Suffolk Way, stated there is a dangerous <br />situation with traffic at the intersection of Santa Rita Road and <br />West Las Positas, specifically with the merging lanes. She felt <br />there should be marked lettering in advance of the intersection. <br />Mr. Van Gelder stated that the City has added additional signing <br />and he felt the intersection is safe; however, he will look at it <br />again and take what ever action he feels might improve the safety <br />at this location. <br /> <br />PUBLIC HEARINGS <br />PUD-84-5-1M, Application of Westbrook Housing Group for a ma~or <br />modification to an approved 215 unit residential development plan <br />located on an approximately 230 acre site south of the southern <br />terminus of Bernal Avenue, Concord Street and Bordeaux Street <br />which would do the following: (1) modify the patio home portion to <br />increase the unit size range from 1300-1600 sq. ft. to 1500-1900 <br />sq. ft., and to allow 9 and the 19 units to include second-story <br />lofts; ~2) modify the paired unit portion to increase the unit <br />size from 1,000-1,500 sq. ft. to 1,484-1,768 sq. ft., and to add <br />land formerly a portion of the Catholic Church, and to delete one <br />unit, reducing the number of units from 50 to 49~ (3) modify the <br />single-family portion to delete four lots and ~radin~ on a ridge <br />and add 5 lots within graded areas in the southerly portion of the <br />site.
