235

additional through access to the Staples Ranch other than
Stoneridge Drive.

Ms. Mariam Chu, Los Altos, representing the Chu property and
Gahrahmat property, stated this property is being developed
according to the general plan; medium and high density. Her only
concern is about noise. She stated when she met with Kaiser it
was her understanding that they were going to mine parallel to
Mohr Avnue and would be completed within one year. She felt
language should be included to reflect that fact and suggested
some wording to that effect.

Mr. Max Gahrahmat, Chu-Gahrahmat property, stated about three
years ago it was determined that a six-lane street was needed so
he agreed; this has been changed three times. He is happy this
one works for everybody.

The following persons spoke in opposition to the Stoneridge
Drive Specific Plan:

Mr. David Fryman, representing Mohr Park Homeowners
Association consisting of 250 households, opposed this Specific
Plan. He asked those in the audience from Mohr Park Homeowners
Association to stand to show their opposition - approximately 75
people stood. They feel the overwhelming traffic concerns, high
density, and safety concerns are not satisfactorily mitigated. He
felt the affected residents were not properly notified; they only
learned of this matter fourteen days ago by a newpaper item. He
requested Council to set up a Task Force of citizens in this area
to meet with the developers, Council and City staff to discuss the
homeowners concerns. He urged Council to continue any decision on
this item until the surrounding property owners concerns have been
satisfactorily mitigated.

Mr. Charles Suhay, 3958 Eilene Court, stated he likes the
neighborhood the way it is now; he does not want high density
residential apartments being built nearby. He stated the
apartments on Santa Rita are ugly and an eyesore to the area. He
does not agree with the developer who said that high density would
be a good neighbor and enhance the area; he is proud of his home
in Pleasanton and does not want high density apartments close to
his residence. He felt this plan is being rushed and would like
more time to discuss these issues and look at the impact of all
factors of the Plan.

Mr. Chris Haynam, 3035 Ferndale Court, Chairman of the
Pleasanton Meadows Association, expressed concern regarding the
traffic-generated noise. His group submitted comments in response
to the EIR and asked that the six lane street be reduced to four
lanes and directed south of the Chu property. He also expressed
concern regarding the speed limit of 45 MPH; he felt it should be
lower. He asked those in the audience from Pleasanton Meadows who
are in opposition to the Stoneridge Drive Specific Plan to stand -
approximately 50 people stood. He stated the road, as presented,

- 10 - 2-7-89
