479

Request of Oak Hill Homeowners Association to Establish a Permit
Parkinq Zone on Alder Court
Mr. Bocian presented his report (SR 89:32) dated January 17,
1989, regarding this matter.

Mr. Alex Faye, 7495 Alder Court, stated that since the time
the request was made to establish a permit parking zone on Alder
Court several of the homeowners have decided they do not want the
parking zone. He asked that this matter be kept open so if it is
determined next fall that it is needed, it can again be brought to
Council for consideration.

Mrs. Bey Beckendorf, 7797 Forsythia Court, stated she is
opposed to the permit parking zones; in her Court several people
have received tickets, and others have had to borrow permits in
order to have enough parking for guests.

Mrs. Ann Fabian, 7467 Alder Court, stated she felt the
parking zone signs are very ugly. She stated there is a lot of
speeding in Alder Court and she requested there be more police
attention in this area.

No action was taken by Council on this item, since it was the
consensus of the majority of the property owners on Alder Court
that they did not want permit parking at this time.

item 12b
Request from Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council to Establish a
Program for Art in Public Places
Mr. Walker presented his report (SR 89:30) dated January 17,
1989, regarding this matter.

It was moved by Councilmember Butler, and seconded by
Councilmember Brandes, that Resolution No. 89-41, instructing
staff to work with members of the Pleasanton Cultural Arts Council
to develop an "Art in Public Places" program to recommend to the
City Council, be adopted.
The roll call vote was as follows:
AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor
Mercer
NOES: None
ABSENT: None

item 12c
Approval of Service Contract with Alameda County Library System to
Operate the Pleasanton Library
This item was considered as item llb on the agenda.

item 12d
Authorization to Proceed with West Pleasanton Annexation Study
Mr. Swift presented his report (SR 89:38) dated January 12,
1989, regarding this matter.

- 28 - 1-17-89
