MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS Item 8a Appointment of Marion Lowe as Housinq Authority Tenant Representative. It was moved by Councilmember Mohr, and seconded by Councilmember Butler, to adopt Resolution No. 89-281, appointing Marion Lowe as Housing Authority Tenant Representative. The roll call vote was as follows: AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver, and Mayor Mercer NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None Item 8b Report on Median Island on Mission Boulevard at Sunol Boulevard. Mr. Elliott presented his report (IR 89:44) regarding this item. Mr. Tarver indicated there should be improvements to the medium to improve the entrance to that shopping center and to the neighborhood. He thought there should be trees in the middle and not so much cobblestone. Mr. Elliott indicated it is extremely expensive to put in the sprinkler systems for any planting and this area is only interim until the street is widened. Mr. Mercer indicated there are other areas in town needing improvement where vegetations has died. Ms. Mohr inquired if there was developer money to contribute to the cost of the median improvements. Mr. Elliott indicated all this money was already allocated for the widening of Sunol. No action was taken on this item. -10- 6-20-89
