425 <br /> <br />Item 7d <br />Minutes from Staff Traffic Committee Meetinq of October 5, 1989 <br /> <br /> Mr. Elliott presented his report (IR 89:72) regarding the <br />matter. <br /> <br /> No action was required or taken by the Council on this item. <br /> <br />Item 7e <br />Actions of the Board of Adjustment, Design Review Board and <br />Planning Commission at the Meetings of October 11, 1989 <br /> <br /> Mr. Swift presented his report (IR 89:76) regarding the <br />matter. <br /> <br /> No action was required or taken by the Council on this item. <br /> <br />8. MATTERS INITIATED BY COUNCILMEMBERS <br />Item 8a <br />Performinq Arts Center Feasibility Subcommittee <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler indicated that he would be interested in working <br />on the Committee together with four other members to be appointed <br />by Mr. Mercer. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer agreed and requested Mr. Butler to suggest names <br />for the other members at the next Council meeting. <br /> <br />Item 8b <br />Vacancy on the Human Services Commission <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that the application period for the vacancy <br />of the Human Services Commission will remain open until <br />December 1, 1989. <br /> <br />Council Discussion on City Hall Building <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler recalled that at a previous Council meeting when <br />it was decided that City Hall would not move from the downtown <br />area, Council also agreed to give the staff some directives to <br />come up with a master plan for a new City Hall. He suggested that <br />a consultant be hired to look into the projections, needs, and <br />opportunities available, including a time frame, and then have the <br />staff come back with the plan. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer stated that he concurred with Mr. Butler's <br />statements but would prefer to wait for the new City Manager, who <br />should be involved in the study. <br /> <br /> Mr. Butler agreed with Mr. Mercer.
