427 <br /> <br /> Mr. Tarver indicated that he agreed that Del Valle Parkway <br />needed to be done. However, he feels uncomfortable about <br />switching funds in the middle of the year. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr pointed out that part of the shrubbery was lost to <br />vandalism to the irrigation system. She inquired if the present <br />irrigation system is vandal-proof or if the neighborhood should <br />help watch for vandalism. <br /> <br /> Mr. Elliott replied that the type of irrigation equipment <br />used now is heavier duty and discourages vandalism. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer commented that the addition of the bike trail <br />would keep children away from the median, which would also stop <br />some of the destruction. <br /> <br /> It was moved by Mr. Mercer, and seconded by Mr. Brandes, that <br />Resolution No. 89-451 be adopted, approving the utilization of the <br />$175,000 budget allocation for the traffic light at the <br />intersection of Valley Avenue and Via de los Milagros/Paseo Santa <br />Cruz, along with funds from the contractor for the sewer line <br />installation, to complete the landscape of the median on Del Valle <br />Parkway and a portion of the landscape in front of the Sports Park <br />on Hopyard Road, and providing that a budget item for the same <br />traffic light be included in the CIP Budget for 1990-91. <br />The roll call vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Councilmembers Brandes, Butler, Mohr, Tarver and Mayor <br /> Mercer <br />NOES: None <br />ABSENT: None <br />ABSTAIN: None <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer requested Mr. Elliott to come up with a staff <br />report to determine how much money would be left from the Del <br />Valle Parkway landscape and how much could be done on the <br />subdivision across the Sports Park. <br /> <br />Item 7c <br />Report on Soundwall Study for Vineyard Avenue East of Bernal <br />Avenue <br /> <br /> Mr. Elliott presented his report (IR 89:75) regarding the <br />matter. <br /> <br /> Ms. Mohr inquired if the report from the acoustical <br />consuiEanE has come in. <br /> <br /> Mr. Elliott replied that it has not. <br /> <br /> Mr. Mercer instructed Mr. Elliott to put it on the Agenda <br />when it comes in. <br /> <br /> No action was required or taken by the Council on this item. <br /> <br /> -10- <br /> 10-31-89 <br /> <br /> <br />
